Engage : National Mens Health Training

This is a one day training course for health professionals and community workers who work with men.

Aim : To increase participants understanding of best practice in engaging men with health / social issues.

Objectives : By the end of the training, participants will have gained an understanding of;

  • The broad determinants of mens health, including how gender influences mens approach to looking after their own health.
  • How best practice guidelines in working with men can be used to engage men more effectively with health and social service and with health programmes.
  • The barriers experienced by men when accessing health programmes.
  • Good practice when setting up and supporting effective group work with men.
