Certificate in Management and Governance for Youth & Community Work - I.T Carlow

The Certificate in Management and Governance for Youth & Community Work (Minor Award Level 8, 10 credits) is coming to Wexford Campus in November 2018.

The aim of this module is to equip students with an understanding of the skills and knowledge required for effective management and governance in contemporary Youth and Community (Y&C) work organisations.

Who Might Be Interested? : Youth Workers, Social Care Workers, Family Support Workers, Project Leaders, Managers, Board Members.

What Subjects Will I Study? : The role of management in Y&C work, working in teams and groups, motivation, amnagement functions, governance, managing Youth and community work in (new) managerial times.

On completion of the Programme, learners should be able to;

  • Apply relevant management theories to a Y&C work context.
  • Analyse effective strategies for quality supervision in Y&C work.
  • Evaluate effective governance systems for Y&C work.
  • Critically evaluate the impact of new managerialism in Y&C work practice.

What Progression Routes are Available ? : Students can exit with a standalone Certificate in Management adn Governance for Youth Work Minor Award Level 8 (10 credits)
