About Us
Wexford CYPSC (Children & Young Peoples Services Committee) is a county-wide committee that includes representatives of all the main statutory, community and voluntary agencies and organisations working on behalf of children and young people (aged 0-24 years) in County Wexford.
There are CYPSC’s established or in development in each county in Ireland. The committees aim to improve the lives of children, young people and families at local and community level. Their purpose is to improve the lives of children, young people and families at local and community level. Wexford CYPSC has developed an Equality & Human Rights Statement that underpins the work of the committee. See WCYPSC Equality & Human Rights Statement 2016.
Restorative Practice.
Wexford CYPSC also supports the development of Wexford Restorative Practice Partnership.
What Are The Five National Outcomes for Children and Young People in Ireland?
The policy underpinning CYPSC's is "Better Outcomes Brighter Futures". This outlines five national outcomes for children and young people.
The 5 National Outcomes for children and young people in Ireland are that children and young people;
1. Are active and healthy, with positice physical and mental well-being.
2. Are achieving their full potential in all areas of learning and development
3. Are safe and protected from harm
4. Have economic security and opportunity
5. Are connected, respected and contributing to their world.
There are five Working Groups attached to the CYPSC and they are currently developing actions to be included in a 3 year CYPSC plan for Co. Wexford. The Working Groups are as follows;
